Workout Clothes: Working out or not, athleticwear is simply wonderful. It is comfy, cute, and can be incorporated into your everyday wardrobe with ease. I know in my closet my workout clothes are my most worn pieces and my first choice for everyday wear. When it comes to buying workout clothes I nearly always go with Lululemon, ALO or GAP. The quality is great for the heavy wear and tear athleticwear endures, and the attention to detail from these brands really sets them apart.
My go-to pieces are high waisted leggings (I always prefer high waisted), a strapy tank, and a fitted long sleeve top.
Workouts: When it comes to working out my favorite workout of all is a barre class. I love the idea that there is a form that you work on perfecting and maintaining, and the trembling and shaking it brings your muscles every single class. I started taking barre almost three years ago and have been doing it off and on ever since. I am currently on an “off” stage as I have been spending time getting ready for the mini-marathon and going to the gym.
I also LOVE to run, but cannot do it as often as I would like because of the toll it takes on my body. I always get hurt :( However, when I am running it is a great opportunity for me to zone out and clear my head.
When I am not doing barre or running, I am in the gym. It’s not my favorite workout, but I enjoy the sweat it brings. I typically spend a hour doing cardio and then I lift weights for a bit. Nothing special, but I do have a planned out routine that I follow.
How I stay motivated: LOLOL, this is quite possibly the most difficult part of exercising. However, I have gotten to the point where it is just something I do. Consistency is key for me and I make sure to plan out what workout I am doing on what day in advance. I try and stick to the schedule as best I can, but if I am really dreading a workout, I don’t kill myself to do it.
I find that some of the things that keep me going are a new workout clothes (look good, feel good), a new playlist, my Microsoft Band and a change in my routine. If I get bored, I try to switch things up.
