A few weeks ago Jake and I went to New York to watch their Derby horse Brody’s Cause and their Preakness horse Cherry Wine run in the Belmont. This was my second time attending the Belmont and my first time attending a complete triple crown. One of my favorite things about the Belmont is that it takes place right outside Manhattan. We stayed in Garden City, a charming suburb to the big city, and were able to take the train into Manhattan twice during our trip.
These photos were snapped in the Upper East side during our second day in the city. I absolutely loved being back in Manhattan again. It brought back so many great memories from last Summer’s internship. Since Jake never made it up to Manhattan to visit me last Summer, I really enjoyed being able to show him the in’s and out’s of my typical day, i.e., train ride on the 1, daily walk down Fashion Avenue, lunch in Bryant Park, etc.
I wore this Julie Brown Livvie dress for the first time around the city and loved how comfortable and bright it was. Bright in Manhattan is few and far between, so this colorful number really let my southern roots show. I paired it with my Gigi New York bucket bag, Tory Burch aviators, Microsoft Band to count my steps, Sylvia Benson Bracelet, and Dolce Vita Sandals. I can’t wait to return to NYC in just a few short weeks with my good friend Madeline to visit our long-time friend Blair!
