Last weekend Jake and I went to the Breeders’ Cup in California. I had not been to California since I was a little girl so I was thrilled to be going back and seeing it as a grown woman. The weather was lovely, the people were nice, but the mountains are what took my breath away.
We got in late Wednesday night, so I was not able to appreciate their true beauty until I woke up Thursday morning. I was in complete awe as a mix of fog and the soft glow from the morning sun struck the high peaks of this unique landscape. Beautiful, stunning, breath-taking, they were an indescribably, majestic sight.
After going on a mid-afternoon hike up the San Gabriel Mountains with Jake, his mom, and some friends of theirs from the race track, we got ready to go to one of the most glamorous, high-end events that I’ve ever been to. The Taste of the World party is put on by Breeders’ Cup and Bobby Flay each year for owners, trainers and jockeys participating in the weekends races. The Hollywood Glam themed party was held at Warner Brothers Studios and featured over a dozen dishes cooked by top chefs from around the world. The best part was getting to go on the set of Gilmore Girls. It was every bit Hollywood and a wonderful experience that I was so fortunate to have the opportunity to attend.
I wore this Amanda Uprichard sweater dress with black suede pumps and a black crossbody. To get into the Hollywood Glam theme I added a rhinestone brooch and big, flashy, rhinestone studs.
