I am so excited to share with my readers the beautiful jewelry by Lise Libby that I have recently had the opportunity to style. Lise Libby is an artisan jewelry line that uses pearls throughout each of their various collections. Every Southern Belle knows that pearls are the perfect accessory, so naturally I have been drawn to them my entire life. While I truly love my pearl studs and my family heirloom pearl strands, the boho feel and uniqueness that came from Lise’s Leather and Pearl line really got me excited.
When I got them in the mail I was really impressed. I loved how rich the color of the leather was and the quality of the pieces. Lise really takes the time to get each inch of her jewelry just perfect and it shows. Just look at the gorgeous detailing in the knots and how each strand of leather is wrapped so precisely.
What I really love about this leather and pearl look is that you can take timeless and add a unique twist. Because of the simplicity in the designs and the use of traditional materials, you still get every bit of that classic flair. These are such functional pieces, giving you the ability to dress them up or down. One of the things I love most about this line is that it allows you the opportunity to wear the jewelry in multiple ways. Notice I have my necklace knotted mid way down my chest, but you could just as easily wear this as one long strand, a choker with additional layers, multiple chokers, the possibilities are endless.
When styling this I knew I wanted to create a natural look with a neutral palette of colors. Wearing something a little more transparent would allow the jewelry to really pop out. I picked a simple olive colored dress from Zara that featured a super cute fit and flair shape. I also loved the contrasting leather and wool materials in the design. They added a unique element to the dress without being over powering, exactly what I needed in my search for simplicity.
I added a brown felt floppy hat as my final way to pull the look together. The deep brown in the hat pulled out the brown in the jewelry and really tied it all together. While it was uncharacteristically warm in Kentucky the day I shot this look, a felt floppy hat like the one I am wearing is the perfect winter accessory. It looks great when you are bundled up in multiple layers and adds a more trendy flair to a style than your knit beanie or toboggan.
